Why No Match?

When CollectIQ can't find a match for a buyer request, there's always a reason. This guide explains each miss reason and the exact actions you can take to fix it.

CriticalHighMediumLow

📦 Supply

No Matching Supply

📦 Supply · Critical priority
no_supply

No inventory items match the requested card, set, or condition. This is the most common miss reason.

Stale Inventory

📦 Supply · Medium priority
stale_inventory

Matching items exist but haven't been updated in over 30 days. Buyers see stale inventory as unreliable.

Grading / Condition Mismatch

📦 Supply · Medium priority
grading_mismatch

Buyer requested a specific grade (e.g., PSA 10) but your matching cards are a different grade or ungraded.

Category Not Supported

📦 Supply · Low priority
category_unsupported

The requested item category is not one you stock or support.

⚙️ Policy

Excluded by Policy

⚙️ Policy · High priority
policy_excluded

Inventory exists but a routing or pricing policy prevented the match. Check your policy rules.

Below Price Floor

⚙️ Policy · Medium priority
price_floor

The buyer's budget is below your minimum asking price for matching items.

Location Mismatch

⚙️ Policy · Low priority
location_constraints

The buyer requested a specific geography or shipping constraint that your locations don't satisfy.

Routing Destination Disabled

⚙️ Policy · High priority
routing_disabled

The routing destination for this request type is disabled in your settings.

🛡️ Trust

Trust Score Too Low

🛡️ Trust · High priority
trust_threshold

Your trust score is below the threshold required for this buyer or marketplace. Improve your trust signals.

📋 Demand

Demand Expired

📋 Demand · Low priority
demand_expired

This buyer request has expired or been withdrawn before a match could be found.

How CollectIQ Matching Works

  1. Buyer submits a want request — card name, set, condition, budget.
  2. MatchRun executes — scans all inventory across enabled routing destinations.
  3. Filters applied — pricing policies, trust thresholds, location constraints, grading requirements.
  4. MatchPack assembled — top matches ranked by score, price, proximity.
  5. Offer sent — buyer reviews the MatchPack and accepts, counters, or declines.

If no MatchPack can be assembled at step 4, the request receives a miss reason explaining exactly why. Each miss reason links to the action you need to take.
